Editorial

What we publish, and what we refuse to.

This market runs on numbers nobody can check and reviews nobody wrote. These are the rules the blog, the help centre and the comparison pages are held to, in public, so you can hold us to them.

The short version

  • Every number checkedThe evidence for each figure kept on file
  • Our own numbers labelledObservation, not research
  • A named author per subjectNo invented reviews, no claimed degrees
  • Corrections shown, not hiddenLogged below with what changed
Principles

Six rules, no exceptions

  1. A checked fact or an observation, never a vibe

Every claim is one of two things: a fact we check before it goes live, with the evidence for every number kept on file, or something we see across the accounts we run, which is labelled as our own observation. If it is neither, it does not go in.

  2. Numbers carry their method

Any figure we publish can be recomputed from the method page: the formula, the sample, the date. A number without a method is marketing, and it is the reason this market is hard to trust.

  3. Every post has an author

Each subject area has one author who signs its posts and keeps them up to date, with an author page listing what they write about and everything they have signed. No author claims a degree, an employer or an award, and we publish no reviews we did not collect.

  4. Competitors get the same standard

Comparison pages quote only what a company publishes on its own pages, and we keep a dated record of what we read. We list what each does better than us, we do not repeat allegations from review sites, and we take a page down the same day if the facts change.

  5. Corrections are visible

When something is wrong we fix it and say what changed, rather than editing quietly. Material corrections appear below; typos and formatting do not.

  6. Nothing is written to rank alone

Pages exist because somebody needs the answer. Where a page would only repeat what ten others say, we would rather not publish it, which is why there are fewer pages here than the market average.

Process

How a post gets published

A post starts from a question we actually get asked, by email or in the free scan. We write it against what the product does, check every number against the method page, and read it once more for claims we cannot support. Where a post touches money or safety, a second person reads it before it goes out.

Posts are dated on publication and again on any material update, and both dates are in the page and in its structured data. An old post that is still accurate keeps its original date rather than being re-stamped to look fresh.

Corrections

The correction log

No corrections yet. This log starts the day the site goes live. When we correct something material, the entry names the page, the date and what changed. If you find an error before we do, tell us and it lands here with credit.
Contact

Reaching the people who write this

Editorial questions, corrections and queries about any figure go to the same inbox as everything else, and a person answers within 24 hours. We do not accept paid guest posts, link insertions or sponsored mentions, so there is no rate card to ask for.
