Instagram follower growth rate
Calculate your monthly growth rate, then compare what each plan's pace adds over 30, 60 or 90 days.
Grow this number a little every day.
Promote your public Instagram profile to your chosen audience. Growth follows a daily limit that increases with your account size, so a small account cannot receive a large plan's full range.

What the number means
Instagram follower growth rate = (ending followers − starting followers) ÷ starting followers × 100. For a monthly rate, use your month's starting and ending counts. A good monthly result meets your follower goal; compare both the percentage and net followers gained, using the same period each time.
The calculator below uses your current public follower count to show what Core, Elite and Pro would add over 30, 60 or 90 days. Each result applies the daily limit for your account size. These are plan calculations, not predictions of your content's future performance.

Compare followers added over 30, 60 or 90 days at each plan's monthly midpoint.
How to calculate Instagram follower growth rate
Take your ending follower count, subtract your starting count, divide the difference by your starting count, then multiply by 100. The difference is your net follower gain: followers added after accounting for followers lost.
For a sample account that starts the month with 5,000 followers and ends with 6,000, the net gain is 1,000 followers and the monthly growth rate is 20%. Record both numbers. The percentage makes accounts of different sizes easier to compare; the net gain tells you how much your audience actually increased.
| Sample starting followers | 1% monthly goal: net added | 2% monthly goal: net added |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | 10 followers | 20 followers |
| 10,000 | 100 followers | 200 followers |
| 50,000 | 500 followers | 1,000 followers |
What is a good monthly follower growth rate?
Start with the number of followers you want to add each month, then translate that goal into a percentage of your starting audience. A common general reference is 1% to 2% a month. On a sample 5,000-follower account, that means 50 to 100 net followers.
The table applies those percentages to sample monthly goals, not to benchmarks by account size. It shows why the same percentage can represent very different gains. Check engagement and posting rhythm alongside follower totals with the free scan.
What each plan's pace adds over 90 days
A 90-day result is three monthly midpoints, with your account-size limit applied first. For a sample account with 2,000 followers, the daily limit is 100. That limits Elite and Pro to 3,000 followers per 30 days, so both calculate to 9,000 added over 90 days.
The comparison below uses that same sample account throughout. Ganicly promotes your public profile to an audience you define, from niche and countries to language and lookalike accounts. Compare the pace your account can receive with the options on pricing.

What is considered a good follower growth rate on Instagram?
A good monthly rate meets your account's growth goal, measured over a consistent period. A common starting point is 1% to 2% growth per month. For a sample monthly goal, adding 100 net followers to a starting audience of 5,000 means 2% growth.
How long does it take to grow 1000 followers on Instagram?
Core's monthly plan has a guaranteed minimum of 1,000 followers per paid period. Delivery starts within 24 hours and continues at a steady daily pace. If the period ends below the minimum, free days are added automatically, no claim needed. The calculator helps you compare the time and follower gains at each plan's pace.
Is 10,000 IG followers a lot?
An audience of 10,000 gives you a concrete starting point, but the count alone does not explain how your posts perform. Pair it with engagement and posting rhythm. The free scan shows those public signals alongside recent posts, so you can assess the account beyond its follower total.
How many followers on Instagram do you need to make money each month?
Use the calculator to set an audience-growth target for your business. Its output shows followers added at each plan's pace, giving you a concrete basis for comparing options. Pair that target with your own revenue goals and choose a follower milestone that supports your next stage of growth.
Can the 5-3-1 or 4-1-1 rule predict Instagram follower growth?
Neither rule is an input to this calculator, so the result does not estimate growth from following either approach. It uses your current follower count, a published plan midpoint and your account's daily limit. To measure results from any approach you try, record your starting and ending counts for the same period.
Is this a guarantee?
No, the calculator's midpoint totals are not guaranteed outcomes. Each plan separately guarantees its lower monthly figure per paid period. If a period ends below that minimum, free days are added automatically, no claim needed. The growth guarantee is fulfilled with free days, never a money refund. The upper end reflects what active accounts typically reach.
Why is the fastest pace capped for my account?
Your account size determines the daily limit used in the projection. The limits are 60 under 1,000 followers, 100 from 1,000 to 10,000, 150 from 10,000 to 50,000, and 200 above 50,000. A smaller account cannot receive a larger plan's full monthly range.
Does it need my password?
No, the tool checks your public Instagram profile using only your username. Profile data can be reused for up to 6 hours, so the free scan and this calculator can show the same follower count. Ganicly's plans also work from your public username and never act inside your account.
