TikTok view counter

TikTok shows a public count on each video. Open a post to see it. This tool averages recent posts, not a live single-video counter.

What it measures

What the number means

TikTok shows a public view count on each video. Open TikTok, visit the creator's profile, and open the video you want to check. A live counter follows that video's changing total. Enter a public username here to calculate average views across recent posts and compare the average with the follower count.

The calculator checks up to 24 recent posts and shows when the data was checked. Results are reused for up to 6 hours and labeled fresh or cached. You get one account summary, with average views per video and views per follower.

3 steps

How it works

  1. 1

Enter the username of a public TikTok account. You do not need a TikTok login.

  2. 2

The calculator checks recent posts and averages the video view counts, excluding videos with zero views.

  3. 3

Read the average views per video, then the views-per-follower ratio. Wide means the average equals or exceeds the follower count; narrow means it falls below.

Public video counts

What counts as a view on TikTok?

TikTok records a view shortly after playback begins. That makes the public total a count of video plays, rather than a count of followers. Read it beside the specific video you are reviewing.

TikTok can display a shortened number: 51,561 views, for example, appear as 51k. When comparing videos manually, note whether you copied a shortened display or a full count. For profile-wide context, the TikTok follower ratio checker also shows likes per follower and views per follower.

Average vs. median

Why one viral video lifts average views on TikTok

Average views gives every included view equal weight. A standout video can therefore pull the result far above what the other posts received. The median answers a different question: what is the middle view count when you sort the videos from lowest to highest?

Use the worked example below to see the difference. Then inspect your own videos: group comparable topics and formats, sort their counts, and compare the middle result with the average. A large gap tells you to study the standout before treating the average as typical. This tool calculates the average; calculate the median separately.

Views per follower

What is a normal views-per-follower ratio?

Views per follower compares average video views with the current follower count. Divide the average by followers to get the ratio. It answers a specific question: is the average video count smaller than, equal to, or larger than the account's following?

Wide and narrow are Ganicly's comparison labels, not published TikTok benchmarks. Use the table to read your result, then check the response to those views. The TikTok engagement rate calculator measures likes and comments against views when enough recent videos have view counts.

Viral views

Is 10,000 views considered viral?

Ten thousand views needs an account-level comparison. 500,000 views is a common broad reference for viral, but follower count and performance against the creator's usual results matter more.

Start with the account's recent average. Compare the video's total with that average, then look at the follower count. Next, open comparable posts and identify what changed: the topic, opening, demonstration or format. This gives you a concrete follow-up test instead of treating a round view total as a content strategy.

Views and earnings

How much is 1,000 views worth on TikTok?

There is no fixed payout for 1,000 public views. Creator Rewards uses a separate eligible-view count. Qualifying conditions include videos longer than one minute, a minimum watch threshold, original content and legitimate traffic.

The usual entry requirements are 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the past 30 days, and an account in good standing. For earnings, check the program's revenue information rather than converting the public counter into a payout. Use this calculator for a different job: comparing recent video performance and finding posts worth studying.

Help center
Does TikTok have a view counter?

Yes, TikTok displays a public view count on individual videos. For a manual comparison, open the videos you want to review and note each count. Enter the creator's public username here when you want an average across recent videos rather than one post's total.

Is 10,000 views viral on TikTok?

Judge ten thousand views against the creator's usual results and follower count. Compare the video's total with recent posts from the same account. Then study the post's topic and format: a video that clearly outperforms comparable posts gives you something specific to test again.

How much is 1000 views worth on TikTok?

There is no fixed payout for 1,000 public views. The video counter and Creator Rewards eligibility are separate counts. Check the program's earnings information for eligible views and revenue; multiplying a public total by a single rate does not account for those qualifying conditions.

Does rewatching a video count as a view on TikTok?

There is no published rule for how repeat plays show on TikTok's public counter. Creator Rewards counts only views that meet watch-time, originality and traffic requirements. A higher public total therefore does not, by itself, establish that more reward-eligible views were earned.

Is there a way to turn off view count on TikTok?

TikTok's audience-controls help page describes access restrictions, not a view-count toggle. To manage those restrictions, open Profile, then Menu, Settings and privacy, and Audience controls. The setting can limit content to people aged 18 or older; restricting access is different from hiding a counter.

How do I find average views on TikTok?

Add the included videos' view counts and divide by the number of videos. This calculator uses recent public posts and leaves videos with zero views out of the average. For a matching manual calculation, use the same videos and their counts from the same time.

What is a healthy views-to-followers ratio?

This calculator calls a ratio of 1x or more wide and anything below 1x narrow. Use the label as a comparison with account size, then inspect the videos behind the average. Check likes and comments alongside views to assess how viewers responded.

Does one viral video break the average?

One standout video can raise the average sharply without making the calculation wrong. Before using that average as a content target, compare it with the middle result and inspect the standout post. Decide whether you want to repeat that video's approach or improve the rest of the sample.
